Driving directions
From the township of Tarana, drive west along Tarana road. After 7km, turn right onto Gemalla Scout Camp Road (this road is not signposted). 400m up the hill there is a gate and a sign marking the entrance to Eusdale Nature Reserve.
Directions to the summit
1. Climb over the gate and head along the fire trail.
2. The first ford marks the entrance to Eusdale Nature Reserve. There are 7 fords across Eusdale Creek as you head north. They are not deep, but expect to get your feet wet.
3. Follow Tarana gap trail to the east.
4. At the gate, turn right. Follow the route of the "Tarana Gap Trail" marked on the topo map. There is a locked gate in the trees where you can cross the fence onto the road.
5. Follow the road 180 metres south.
6. Leave the road and follow the south side of the fence around the paddock.
7. Leave the fence at the SE corner. First head SE to the ridge, then follow the ridge in a NE direction.
8. There are some good views from the knoll. From here it is nice easy walking through open woodland.
9. The summit is heavily forested.
10. I recommend exploring the summit ridge to the south east, for the interesting trees on the ridge tops.
