Driving directions
From Rylstone, head east along Narango Road. This turns into a dirt road as you enter Wollemi National Park. From the Dunnes Swamp turn off, drive for around 11km to "Kelgoola" station. Past here the road deteriorates rapidly. Park somewhere your car won't get in the way.
Directions to the summit
1. Follow the road to the east. The scenery turns from farmland to bush as the road gets steeper. As you get higher and nearer to the base of Coricudgy, the vegetation begins changing to the lush basalt vegetation found on the summit. If there has been recent rain you might see water flowing down the road from the natural springs where the basalt meets the less permeable sandstone.
2. After about 8km and 300m of climbing, you come to a fork in the track. There should be a sign indicating the way to "Coricudgy Mntn". Take the left fork. The climb gets even steeper as you wind your way up the mountain. There are some beautiful fern groves and you will start to get views of some of the surrounding mountains.
3. There is a hard left turn at the top of the climb. From here it is 2km along a flat trail to the summit.
4. The summit is at the northern end of Mount Coricudgy. There is a short side track to a large radio tower and a trig point at the summit itself. Return the way you came.
